Promoting commercial agriculture:
Dear friends,
I am Rev. Canon Erasto Nemeyimana. I am a member of Anglican Church of Uganda, clergy and Archdeacon serving in St Barnabas Nkoma Church of Uganda East Ruwenzori Diocese Church Of Uganda. I am spearheading 8 big Parishes composed of 37 small Churche In Kamwenge District.
My Archdeaconry covers four subcounties, that is, Nkoma Sub county, Bwizi Sub county, Nkoma-Katalyeba Town council and Ryakahungu Town çouncil in Kamwenge District, Uganda. It has a refugee settlement camp called Rwamwanja where the majority of refugees are from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The community is mixed with Nationals and Refugees both are agriculturalists.
The population of Rwamwanja is composed of two communities namely the local communities and immigrants in the refugee settlements. The majority of the population is involved in subsistence farming as the main livelihood.

In effort to eradicate poverty in these communities, the diocese is eploring strategies that will promote modern agriculture to ensure food security on one hand and to promote commercial agriculture to boost income levels in our communities.
To this end, The Bishop of Ruwenzori Diocese has identified a team of passionate delegates to undertake an appreciation tour in Israel to study the modern methods of agriculture practised by small holder farmers in order to recommend what we can apply in our environment. It is from here that I was selected together with my wife to undertake the study tour to Israel which will give us skills and ample time to teach our people.
As a passionate farmer myself and a strong believer in holistic development, we find it a golden opportunity to be part of this team as I strongly believer that we shall make a big difference in the lives of our people.
However, The participants have been tasked to raise their own funds to cover all the expenses of the trip including visa, air tickets accommodation and subsistence while in Israel.

As such I appeal to you fellow passionate believers to support me in this great cause.
