CARING HAND INITIATIVE - Fostering the Health And Welness of Children

Poverty continues to deprive children of the most basic necessities to living a better life. According to UNICEF, 1 in 11 children in Uganda dies before the age of 5, and this likelihood is increased for children born in rural, impoverished areas with uneducated mothers. Inaccessibility to health supplies and services remains a pressing issue due to a variety of factors, from families’ low income to a shortage of healthcare workers. Furthermore, many of the health challenges that children face are preventable through health education and awareness programs.

The Caring Hand Initiative aims at fostering the health and wellness of vulnerable children, including their caregivers, within underserved communities of Uganda, by uplifting them through health education and advocacy. Our mission is to disseminate essential health information so that caregivers can provide the best at-home care to their children while staying safe from COVID-19.
Our goal is to raise at least UGX 10,000,000 (Ugandan Shillings) toward the project as well as to provide at least 50 children with basic health supplies, including diapers, sanitary wipes, menstrual pads, and wheelchairs. With your help, we can move one step closer toward lowering the health risks that put rural children’s lives in danger.

Please consider donating and sharing this fundraising campaign with others. Any help, big or small, can make a lasting positive impact on a child’s life. Thank you in advance; your help is greatly appreciated!

Stay safe!
