Hope Beyond Boundaries Elderly Foundation is a start up community based organisation in uganda aiming at helping the vulnerable Elderly individuals in kasese district. The care for the Elderly people in Uganda is solely the responsibility of the family. it is expected that the children should be the ones to take care of their parents once they start getting old and so has been the practice that the support of the Elderly people has been from their immediate families.
However due to the heavy rains that triggered devastating floods in Western Uganda in the recent weeks, these fllods killed many people and forcing majority from their homes.
This has left most of the Elderly needy as they lack finance to support their livelihood as some lost their relatives/care givers who would take care of them. Some of the Elderly lost their properties like houses ,plantations were washed and they remained with no alternative but to relocate to the kasika catholic church camp and kabughabugha camp in rukoki subcounty in Kasese district.
An alarm has been raised in these camps about older people living with HIV/AIDS who are unable to access vital life saving anti retrovirals after being displaced from their homes and these medications need proper nutrition. We are seeking to help the Elderly with basic necesssities like food (including rice and posho),soap,beddings,toilet tissue,sugar,clothesand adult diapers for some inorder to improve their standards of living in these camps.
The proceeds will directly benefit the Elderly living in camps of rukoki subcounty in kasese district and we do guarantee that the donations will directly reach the beneficiaries and we will be glad to report on what we have been able to achieve together.
