SAVE THE GIRL CHILD FOUNDATION UGANDA is a Community Based Organization and a National Non-Governmental Organization registered with Entebbe Municipality under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development and the Non-Governmental Organization Board respectively. The organization realizes the significance of a positive influence on the girl child in the development of the society.


It was established in 2015 with 3 members as one of the Community based Organization in Lunnyo East Entebbe Municipality and transformed into a Non-Governmental Organization in 2020 with fully set up committee of seven (7) registered members on the board of directors and almost ten (10) hardworking volunteering members.

It is dedicated in providing a holistic and sustainable approach to life challenges including quality health services, poverty eradication and education to marginalized girl child and Communities with equal opportunities for vulnerable children in basic areas of life.

The proposed project,“SUPPORT TO UNDER- PRIVILEGED AND VULNERABLE GIRL CHILD” is in line with the objects of the Constitution of the Registered Trustees of SAVE THE GIRL CHILD FOUNDATION UGANDA, which is a registered charity in Uganda. The project is in line with Government’s development activities falling within the UN Sustainable Development Goals Number one to four, which deal with poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being and, quality education.

The Ugandan Government has made all efforts through the Ministry of Gender, Child Welfare and Disability, to champion the implementation of the UN Sustainable Goals. However, the UN Human Development Report 2016 acknowledges that if human development for everyone is to be realized, there is need to recognize that the most disadvantaged groups in society, such as rural populations, need extra assistance to overcome discrimination.

TARGET GROUP
The main target groups are theunder privileged and vulnerable girl childmostly affected by HIV/AIDS, hunger and poverty in the project area. Initially, the project is targeting a total of 50 under privileged and vulnerable girl child with a possibility of increasing the numbers in future once this project is successful and, funds permitting. The project will entirely emphasize support to the girl-child.

EXPECTED OUT-COME

• 50 under privileged and vulnerable girl child shall access pre-school support and development.
• 50under privileged and vulnerable girl childshall access scholastic and training materials.
• 50 under privileged and vulnerable girl child shall access nutritional food during the project period.
• 50 under privileged and vulnerable girl child shall access basic primary health care and material support.
• Guardians of the under privileged and vulnerable girl child shall be assisted with food, material, moral and spiritual support.

The community within the project area shall become more responsible and development-oriented in addressing issues of HIV/AIDS, poverty, illiteracy and the plight of the under privileged and vulnerable girl child

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
The project will be implemented by SAVE THE GIRL CHILD FOUNDATION UGANDA through its administrative offices atPLOT 554, KAJJANSI, ENTEBBE ROAD, UGANDA AGRIDEPT BUILDING, SECOND FLOOR, and SUITE 3.
