The Church of Uganda Diocese of Northern Uganda (DNU) covers five districts, namely: Amuru, Gulu City, Gulu District, Nwoya District and Omoro District. The DNU has 9 archdeaconaries and 41 parishes. Each parish has several sub parishes. The DNU has a total of 428 active and retired ministers and workers. Like all other churches in Uganda, the churches under DNU have not held public worship since March 22, 2020 when church services were suspended as part of measures to contain the covid19 pandemic. With the congregation restricted from coming to church premises, the church must now reach out to the flock much more than ever before.
This campaign, which is sanctioned by the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt Rev. Johnson Gakumba intends to mobilize funds to support the welfare of ministers and ministry support staff within the diocese.
