FUNDRAISING DRIVE TO SAVE SYLVIA'S LEG

My name is Sylvia Asiimwe Tinka, a Ugandan and mother of three great boys. I had an accident that caused me to break two bones in my leg. I then had two surgeries to repair the fracture. After several years the scar opened up around the ankle area and caused a wound that closed after almost three years. About three years ago the scar tissue opened up again and has since become a chronic leg ulcer that you see in the picture above.

I have had several procedures and dressings on my wound over the years, however, the wound has not healed. Recently, i reached out to Kirudu National Refferal Hospital in Uganda, and have been recieving care since September 2021. During the last six months there has been great improvement and we are now ready for the grafting surgery. I am currently admitted at the hospital and my surgery is slated for tomorrow Friday 18th March 2022.

I am now reaching out to youi all, friends, family and well wishers for your help and support for the surgery and after care during the healing process moving forward. The procedure will cost between 4million to 6 million Uganda Shillings. I am still unemployed and, therefore, relying on friends, family and loved ones for support during this time.
