Girls in slums of Kawempe are faced with a problem of lack of sanitary pads which forces them to use old cloths and to others use pieces of paper which affects their health especially the pieces of the toilet papers that break off when blending starts and polythene paper which is full of chemicals. After our research, we confirmed that this is a real problem and there was need to help the girls because it was affecting them by causing fear, missing classes, poor academic performance, absenteeism at school and hence acquiring diseases.

The main cause of this are high poverty levels in the families where the girls come from and it was evident enough that the parents cannot afford to provide sanitary pads to their daughters whenever need arises
