This is to introduce to you the students of Makerere University Biotechnology Club from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources & Biosecurity (COVAB).
The members of this Science Club are focusing on using the cutting edge science of biotechnology to find solutions to the local challenges in health, environment and agriculture.
As part of their current objectives, they are working on a project to produce an enzyme (chemical) that can safely degrade plastic bottles which have become a menace in our environment without burning which is harmful to human health and environment. This project was submitted for an international Science Jamboree (Competition) which took place in the United States and the team won a Laboratory pippeting robot ( Opentrons OT-2 Pippeting robot). The team is therefore looking for financial support to upscale their project.
These students believe that local problems can only be solved by the local community who are affected with the support of local and international partners.
It is on this basis that they are requesting for your financial support as one of the stakeholder and partner to help them create the solution to manage plastic pollution in our environment.
You will be recognized by Makerere University as a Gold, Silver, or Bronze partner according to established criteria.
