Buikwe Riis Coffee Farmers Sacco Limited is coffee Farmers cooperative Society located at Buikwe District with its offices at Lweru A village Kiyindi Road, Buikwe Town Council. It was started in 2016 by 56 coffee produce organizations and 85 individual members. Currently, the cooperative is with over 1000 individual members and 64 coffee produce organizations. It was started with aim of eradicating challenges faced by smallholder coffee farmers in Buikwe district. Members started saving money on weekly basis and borrowing those in need through there Sacco.

This enabled farmers to get quality planting materials, fertilizers, pesticides, harvesting and post harvest handling materials among others. After doing that for over four years, enabled increased production and productivity. Due to lack of coffee value addition facility, farmers are selling coffee as red cherries and dried coffee.

Therefore, there is a need to put in place coffee value addition facility to enable smallholder farmers to start selling their coffee as Fairly Average Quality (FAQ) and Graded Coffee . This attract higher prices which will enable farmers to access quality health care, good accommodation, children access to quality education among others.

Therefore, Buikwe Riis Coffee Farmers Sacco is seek financial support from individuals and organizations to enable it to put in place such facility. These include storage, machines among others.
